National WMU and state WMU leaders in the western U.S. will host the Western Regional Leadership Summit at Del Norte Baptist Church in Albuquerque, N.M., Feb. 19-21, 2015. This conference is for anyone interested in learning more about leading their church in missions education and involvement.
"Equipping missions leaders is at the forefront of what we do, both through national WMU and state WMU," said Wanda S. Lee, executive director of national WMU. "We are excited to offer this time for quality leadership training in partnership with WMU leaders in our western states."
The event will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the New Mexico Baptist Convention Office with a Southwest-style welcome dinner and a focus on missions in New Mexico. General sessions and conferences will follow on Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:45 p.m., and on Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Del Norte Baptist Church.
Programs guests include Wanda Lee; Debby Akerman, president, national WMU; Clella Lee, leadership consultant, national WMU; Lorna Bius, LoveLoud catalytic missionary, NAMB; and international missionaries. Ira Pinkston of Del Norte Baptist Church will lead worship.
In addition to state leaders serving in the west, Sandy Wisdom-Martin, executive director of WMU of Texas, and Kelly King, executive director of Oklahoma WMU, will also lead conferences.
A conference fee of $49 through Jan. 15 ($59 after Jan. 15) includes conference materials and lunch on Friday, Feb. 20. Visit wmu.com/events for more information, a complete schedule, and to register. Hotel reservations, if needed, must be made separately; special room rates are available at the Albuquerque Marriott.
If you need more information on this conference please call me at 575-760-1603 or email me at email@example.com. This is an awesome opportunity for us here in New Mexico.
Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell will be here live in Rio Rancho at the Santa Ana Star Center on April 17th and 18th for a 'Living Proof Live' event. This is NOT a simulcast. Please consider joining in prayer for God to do a mighty work at this event. They are expecting 4000 plus in attendance. Consider the challenge of bringing ladies to this event that would otherwise not be able to or even want to attend without your prayer, support and encouragement.
'You Lead' is a women's ministry leadership training opportunity that takes place directly before the event. It will be April 16th-l7th at Hoffmantown Church. This would be greatly beneficial to anyone who leads or wants to lead in any area of women's ministry. We rarely have the opportunity to have such high quality women's ministry training in New Mexico, so take advantage of this opportunity to attend. If finances are a hindrance to you attending this opportunity, contact Krista Peterson at BCNM (firstname.lastname@example.org). This will be on a first come, first serve basis so feel free to contact me ASAP!
The Living Proof Live kickoff rally is January 22th at Legacy Church in Albuquerque at 6:30p.m. If you can attend this kickoff event, it will help your women's ministry get focused on the intent and the prayers behind 'Living Proof Live'. We will even hear a message from Beth Moore directed to those of us attending in Rio Rancho! There will also be lots of door prizes including a VIP Grand Prize of hotel and reserved front row tickets.
